another *FREE* Deepak and Oprah meditation challenge…

Another Deepak and Oprah FREE meditation challenge called “Finding your flow” starts this Monday, April 14, 2014.  Even if you miss the first day, still try to sign up because often you can still sign up a couple of days late, unless they’ve changed it.  I think these challenges–the music, the affirmations, etc. are getting better and better each time and can TRANSFORM your life if you do them.

And have your kids listen to them.

Namaste and many blessings***

Could this supplement be a cure for–or at least put off getting–the common cold??!

***Please do your own research and talk to your own doctor, acupuncturist, or naturopath, etc. to see what supplements are right for you and your family depending on what other supplements and prescriptions you are taking, other health conditions, etc.  This is just my own personal path.

I have taken for a few  years with some success Airborne and a Chinese supplement called Gan Mao Ling right when I get that tickle in the back of my throat.  I’m not even sure what Gan Mao Ling is exactly.

This year, I had been surrounded by sick coughing people (lovely people but when they were making phlegmy cough noises I could feel my aura automatically shrink down, not even wanting my energy to mingle with theirs lest I catch their cold and still I hugged them and met them for coffee and tea because well, they are Lovely (capital “L”)).   A week before Thanksgiving, I had that tickle in the back of my throat and I thought “Uh-oh, I think I’m getting sick, wait am I?  Am I getting sick?  I can’t be getting sick, now’s not a good time, last week fine, or two weeks later than now, but not now!” … that I think about it,  what I thought was probably closer to “Oh, shit! I think I’m getting sick.”

My parents were going to be visiting and quite frankly I’ve been sick for too many Thanksgivings so I was refused to get sick.  Luckily I had an accupuncture appointment in a few days because my acupuncturist had reminded me of acupuncture being PREVENTATIVE–you know, you go when you feel good or okay and get a boost before you really feel sick and bad and have a longer way to go before you actually feel better.  She told me that she and her husband always take Yin Qiao when they first think that they are getting sick.  “What?!?” I practically yelled at her, “you’ve never told me about this in the past few years EVER?!?  Why are you holding out on me?!”  Apparently the subject never came up–I think I didn’t go during cold and flu season.  I was being preventative, just not super-preventative, call it selectively preventative, otherwise known as spring and fall 😉

She said that Yin Qiao (or I’ve seen it spelled Yin Chiao too, I think the formulas vary) is gentle and can be given to kids too.  I started taking a few tablets every few hours and I swear to God, Buddha, Creator, Beloved, Source Energy, and Divine Universe, that taking Yin Qiao was the only reason I did not get sick over Thanksgiving.  I never felt 100% but I felt pretty pretty darn good and I did still feel like I was fighting something…but so much better than if I became sick.  So here it is, almost a month later, and I’m still holding on.  Hmm…now I’m thinking stocking stuffers!   🙂

So, during this holiday season, see your acupuncturist, take your Yin Qiao, do your meditation, do your yoga or Nia or dancing or running for joy and exercise, go to sleep early(-ish), take some sugar, chocolate, wheat, gluten, corn, and other inflammatory foods out of your diet (I know easier said than done this time of year), take your Bragg’s apple cider vinegar, try to keep stress low, don’t worry (Remember “Worry is a misuse of imagination.”–Dan Zadra). Honor you body and don’t run it into the ground.

Happy Holidays!!!  And much Joy, Health, Love, Laughter and Abundance for this new year!!!

Namaste and many blessings to you***

last chance to join Oprah and Deepak’s free meditation series starts today!! August 5, 2013

Oprah and Deepak Chopra’s free meditation series starts today August 5, 2013.  They are simple 15-minute beautiful meditations with some inspirational words and some music.   The format is slightly different so I don’t know how long you will be able to sign up.  Also, you only have access to the meditations for 5 days (whereas before I believe you had 7 days to listen to them).

Meditation is where you–the deepest, purest part, your soul, your true essence lives–and when you are quiet and in that place of stillness it can touch you whispering through a very very subtle vibration that starts to connect your heart, your soul, and your mind together.

Namaste and many blessings***

FREE 21-day meditation with Oprah and Deepak Chopra –“Everybody thinks of changing humanity…

“Everybody thinks of changing humanity and nobody thinks of changing himself.”

–Leo Tolstoy

I have nothing to gain from this but I TRULY believe in it—it is a 21-day program that they will later sell for around $30-40 so why not do it now for free?!?   I cannot tell you, you must experience it for yourself.  I did the last one offered for 21 days and my teenage son did it for some of them, not all of them.  It does not have to be all or nothing, there is some flexibility in when you listen and meditate.  Even if you do some of the meditations—IT IS WORTH IT!:)

FYI—***Last time you could even sign up late.

Namaste and many many blessings***

p.s.  this could be the thing that changes your life but it’s so *subtle* you don’t realize it–honor it, embrace it, accept it, allow it***

we are so lucky!! another free Oprah-Deepak Chopra meditation 21-day course!!

We are so lucky and blessed 🙂  Oprah and Deepak Chopra are offering another FREE 21-day meditation course.  It is starting March 11, 2013.  The course is called “Perfect Health.”  Please take advantage of this.  It’s free.  It’s simple to sign up just go to and enter your email address and a password.  I am not affiliated with them, but the courses I have done have been  quick, short, effective, and relaxing.  After the last course offered, I bought the 21-day meditation challenge CD sets of “Mind-Body Odyssey,” “Creating Abundance,” and “Free to Love.”  I love all of them (and they were on sale:).

The short blasts of a little bit of talking/inspirational messages and them a short beautiful time of music is perfect for introducing you to meditation–I am using it for my teenage son so that he has some resources for dealing with stress so that it becomes second nature to go immediately to some mantras or breathing when he starts to feel stress in his life.  I have been meditating for many years and I also LOVE these courses.  LOVE them.  Love.

Healing Insomnia–what if you’ve tried everything and the last piece to your puzzle is slight food sensitivities

I have had many many sleepless nights, and some health problems and done cleanses and am at a point where I am pretty tuned in to my body (not always, but for the most part lol).  I have noticed this before and am noticing again right now after waking up tonight- that my tongue is just slightly bigger–i.e. swollen ever so slightly– apparently from, I believe, some ingredient-preservative? who knows- from the bottle of prepared teriyaki sauce that I put on some rice noodles.

Some slight food or preservative allergy might be affecting you too–making your tongue just that slight bit bigger and blocking your airway and you think you are having other medical problems when it’s just that slight bit bigger of a tongue, slightly swollen from a food sensitivity, is blocking your airway and you’re waking up and thinking what is wrong with you?! why can’t you sleep (insert desired cuss word),  your brain won’t stop chattering away, you’re too hot/cold, you’re worrying about something/someone, the dog/cat/child must have made you wake up when really you couldn’t breathe very well with your tongue obstructing your airway and your brain signaled your body it was in distress and you weren’t getting enough air.  No, you are not crazy because you have tried everything and still cannot sleep.  Maybe consider trying a cleanse.

Caroline Sutherland offers one that I’ve done a couple times and I like it (  I believe she offers them three or so times a year, in the spring, in the fall, and January.  Also I’ve done a Mediclear cleanse (made by Thorne, which I liked for me.  I bought it from my acupuncturist who had done it and I trust her.  I put the Mediclear powder into frozen fruit smoothies.  Just try a couple different cleanse programs that work for you and of course consult your doctor if you need to for your specific health concerns.   Or just take out all prepared foods from your diet and buy whole foods for a while even if it is just for a few days or a week and see if that has any effect on you.  Journal about how you’re sleeping, what you’re eating.  Do not have any caffeine and yes, some ice creams have chocolate pieces in them that can affect your sleep.  I’ve experimented!

Until tomorrow, just relax, don’t stress about not sleeping and put in your favorite meditation cd or ocean noises and relax into your night    and just connect to God/Creator/Spirit/Universe or Love or whatever you believe in and know to be True and enjoy that connection.  Tomorrow is a new day.  It is in your hands.  And it will be a great one! 🙂

Update:  12/06/2012

I actually ended up ordering the 21-day creating abundance meditation challenge.  I believe it’s on sale until January 15 or so and it’s also back-ordered for the CD’s.  I had my teenage son meditating to some of them.  They are done in such a wonderful and accessible way.  Even one of my friends just told me today that she was happy I’d emailed her about the meditation challenge and though she hadn’t done all of them, she’d really liked them.  She told her husband to get the CD’s for her for a Christmas present.  If you go to and go to the “Store” tab and then to the “Music and Videos” tab and then go to “Guided Meditations” you will find the 21-day creating abundance challenge and others and you can click on the “Listen Here” button to hear a brief snippet of some of it and see if it resonates with you.

products I like

I think I’ll have to keep updating this:

I have been meditating using Holosync meditation cds from Centerpointe for a little over two years now.  I love them.  Their website can explain more than I can and you can get a free demo that is just a few minutes long; a basic description is that the sounds are like rain and singing bowls and are relaxing.  I think you’ll get something out of it even if you just do the first Cd.  I have had a couple mystical moments that I can’t quite describe, like I fell into the sounds or something like that but mostly I just meditate and become very relaxed.

I have just tried Wen by Chaz Dean.  I bought them off of QVC.  I had been wanting to try his products for about a year or so.  I saw him on the tv show Flipping Out, where Jeff is funny and crazy and creates beautiful houses and Chaz Dean was one of his clients.  I had never shopped or watched QVC (but my mother-in-law has) and I happened to see on the guide that Chaz was going to be on.  He just comes across as sincere, knowledgeable, and passionate about hair and his products.  I ordered the Pomegranate and Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner and Pomegranate Finishing Treatment Creme.  (The Pomegranate is wheat-free.)  I have coarse wavy dry damaged (yes I had my hair dyed at a place I’d never been before and didn’t think to as if the dye was semi-permanent and trusted the professional standing there too much, so I went in looking for red/auburn hair like I had growing up and had had my hair dyed a few times in the past few years and I left the salon looking like Halloween walking (black?!?), unfortunately I had missed Halloween by a week.  So then I had it bleached, and resulting in umm, unhealthy hair.  My daughter had used it 2 or 3 times and her mom’s friend who hadn’t seen her for a few weeks told her her hair looked so pretty and asked if she had done anything different to it. My daughter and I joked that she had brushed it and her friend’s mom made another nice comment and I told her we had changed shampoo, but I don’t think she believed me.

I noticed the day I used Wen my hair was a little tamer and when I curled it, it held it’s curl better and didn’t look so frizzy.  The next morning, I was sitting in my bathrobe and my daughter (who I had not told I switched shampoos) commented on how my hair looked nice and soft.  It is still damaged but my hair is softer and I really like it so far.  I do feel like I have to wash my hair every day because it seems like it gets a little greasy at the scalp, but I usually wash it every other day and just wash the front sides the other days.  It is a lot softer actually.  I just ordered the Six Thirteen Cleansing Treatment by Chaz, so I’ll see how that goes.  It is expensive, but I think he uses real ingredients (but I don’t believe they are organic) and his shampoos don’t contain sulfates which make the shampoo lather up and are the things that strip your hair of its luster.  I warned my kids it was like washing your hair with conditioner.  I also was tired of trying all these shampoos and products I didn’t like, didn’t work, what a waste of money. So I was desperate.

I also like Blinc mascara.  I’ve only tried the trial size but I really liked it.
