painting magical rocks***

(Emma’s magical painted rock 🙂

My daughter had a friend over and they decided to paint rocks.  I didn’t see her friend’s rock but I did see Emma’s.  The result was colorful, enchanting, whimsical, and inspiring.

Now, I do creative projects, but my first thought after “Wow!  I love it!” was, “I would create that after a couple in-person workshops, an online course, perusing artist books and magazines and a youtube video or two 😉

Now I have to convince her to paint some big rocks for the fairies and my garden!***

fairies are real***

(photos taken by cory with an Olympus InfinityZoom200 camera)

***fairies are real***they are magic (why are some gardens magical and others are beautiful but missing a soul?)  I believe in beauty and magic.  I have felt it.  People didn’t believe in germs at one point in history…and look where we are now…hand sanitizer is everywhere.

At the time I took this photo, I had been reading Doreen Virtue’s book about fairies.  I was with my family in a national forest and when we were walking back to our car, I felt the beauty…the fairies..so I said out loud something to the effect of, “I’m going to take a picture of my kids and I would love any fairies that want to be photographed to show up if you would like to” and they did…

I leave you with this…

“Some things are true whether you believe them or not.”

Seth–an angel in the movie “City of Angels”

I wish you love and blessings because they are everywhere!***

every place is under the stars, every place is the center of the world

(hanging out with the fairies***)

“The lesson which life repeats and constantly enforces is “look under foot.”  You are always nearer the divine and the true sources of your power than you think.  The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive.  The great opportunity is where you are.  Do not despise your own place and hour.  Every place is under the stars, every place is the center of the world.”    –John Burroughs

as Denise Linn loves to remind us–your life is happening right now, not when you graduate, not when you get married, not when you have kids, not when you start a career or your kids are grown….now.

It’s all happening right now.  You are the one you’ve been waiting for and you are exactly where you are supposed to be.  Exactly.  Timing Is Everything.

So embrace where you are.

Feel your heart chakra opening and radiating out all of that love and deep inner light residing inside of you (it is there even if you don’t feel it!) and let the waves of that pure essence of You reverberate in and out of you again and again and go put on some stereo headphones and (mildly?!) crank up my favorite Snatam Kaur song (The Mul Mantra–Inner Truth (off of the album called The Light of Naam–there are other songs called Mul Mantra that she sings but the one I *love* is off of this specific album.  It just feels like *sacred joyful glowing splendor*)–as a side note, this song is strangely ethereal in the wee morning dark hours curled up and cozied with a cup of tea before anyone else is stirring.

Namaste and many blessings to you where you are***

Chalice Well in Glastonbury, England

(all photos by the lotus seed journals)

the two circles that overlap are called the Vesica Piscis which represents “the union of heaven and earth, spirit and matter, conscious and unconscious, masculine and feminine.  The term Vesica Piscis translates as ‘Vessel of Fish’ and is associated with the early symbol of the fish in Christianity.  Imagine the Vesica as the gateway to the source.  Contemplate it and go on a journey from the world of matter into the world of spirit and return bringing the spirit into the material world.”  (off sticker from http://www.iconart.org.uk)

Ahhh, the Chalice Well, think Glastonbury, magical, mystical, the mists of Avalon, King Arthur, healing waters, etc…

*The following is from a card freely distributed at the Chalice Well:

“The Glastonbury Moment

Spirit of All Life, Mother and Father of us all, look with loving kindness on this community of Glastonbury and Avalon.

Bless all beings here with love, compassion and growing consciousness.

Help us to be good neighbours as we build a safe, creative and prosperous town in which all children are cared for and all people supported in their growth and fulfillment.

Inspire us to care for our sacred landscape so as to benefit the natural world and our children’s children for generations to come.

Help us to be mindful and caring towards our many visitors and pilgrims, honouring their diverse paths and faiths, as we honour and celebrate the diversity of belief among ourselves.

We pray for peace and justice at home and all across the world.

Blessed be.  Amen.  Om.”

“Every flower has its fairy…

(***I found a flower fairy wearing a yellow dress in a pansy in my garden 🙂

“Every flower has its fairy, every tree its spirit.”

“Every plant–every aspect of the natural world–has some spirit, some energy associated with it.  What we call the fairies and elves are just a small part of The Realm, but they are all Mother Earth’s children….They hold the key to many mysteries of life.  They stimulate intuition, creativity, and artistic energies.  They hold the secrets to the true healing powers of plants, stones, and all of Nature.”

“Sometimes in life it is more important to feel than to know.  By stirring some of those forgotten embers, by remembering what we felt and knew as a child, we rediscover the joys and mysteries of the world.  We open ourselves to the spirits of Nature and all her elements.  Remember that we can starve as much from a lack of wonder as we can from a lack of food.  Nature and all of her spirits keep the wonder in us alive.”

–Ted Andrews (Faerie Charms)

“Know you what it is to be a child?…

“Know you what it is to be a child?  It is to be something very different from the man of today.  It is to have a spirit yet streaming from the waters of baptism; it is to believe in love, to believe in loveliness, to believe in belief; it is to be so little that the elves can reach to whisper in your ear, it is to turn pumpkins into coaches and mice into horses, lowness into loftiness, and nothing into everything, for each child has its fairy godmother in its soul.”

what if for today (and from now through the new year)…

(photo:  San Francisco Botanical Gardens)

What if for today (and from now on through the new year) you live from Louise Hay’s affirmations of “All is well.  Everything is working out for my highest good.  Out of this situation only good will come.  I am safe.  Life loves me and is conspiring to bring me my greatest good.”  and Cheryl Richardson’s and Louise’s “This situation is resolved quickly and easily with all parties getting all of their needs met.” and remembering what a nun told Caroline Myss when she was younger that “God’s rejection is our protection.”  (that one has helped me a LOT lately lol)  Do you feel the weight of the world starting to lift from your shoulders and your body sighing from relief?  I know I do.  And I feel relieved that everything is exactly how it’s supposed to be and that life is guiding me to a more authentic path.

Life is shifting you, turning you.  Denise Linn says that life is speaking to you through every emotion, circumstance, person drawn to you, etc.  This is your life.  This is your moment.  It doesn’t start when you get to where you think you should be, holiday errands completed, etc.  It is you in the place you are right now.  This is it.  And if you keep checking in with yourself (and you know yourself and what your soul needs to be happy and what your essence is because you’ve sat in meditation where you’re not trying to convince yourself of who you are or why you should want something, you just are, and you honor, acknowledge and accept who you are–faults and all) if you check in with yourself with every decision and take that moment to ask yourself ala Oprah Winfrey, “Is this right for me” and being grateful for what you have in your life right now.  Then you will be gently guided to a more authentic life moment by moment.

P.S.   For abandonment issues, Sandra Ann Taylor’s affirmation is “When I live in my own authentic truth, I cannot be abandoned.  It’s not an issue.  I create my own happiness and as I do, I bring in wonderful people into my life.”
