fun way to watch your kids grow and keep it as a memory (cute and fairly clutter-free!)

“Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.  Let me learn from you, love you, savor you, bless you before you depart.  Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.” — Mary Jean Irion

(Ladybug and Bee tape measures made by Lantern Moon)

Years ago after a few different attempts of paper and board-type ways of measuring my kids height and the paper and boards falling apart, or the papers getting ripped, etc., I decided to transfer my kids’ heights to a cute Lantern Moon tape measure–one for each of them with their names written on them–and of course, I continued marking their “growings” on the tape measure until they grew right out of it :), well, one so far and one close.  (My tape measures go up to 5 feet).  So easy to put away and use and fairly clutter-free!

the little things

My mantra/affirmation lately has been “If I take care of the little things, then the big things will take care of themselves.” — take care of the bills, take care of the floors, take care of the sinks and mirrors and bathrooms, if I take care of the laundry, if I wipe the counters, if I hold the door open for someone, etc. and so forth—all consciously, because if I take care of the little things, the big things can sort themselves out more easily and flow better (whether or not those big things are “negative” or “positive”).

Deva Premal and Miten are having a 21-day *FREE* 15-minute or so meditation/chanting

it’s already a few days in but Deva Premal and Miten are having a 21-day FREE 15 minute meditation with chanting.  I’ve seen them in concert and love them and their cds.  I think you can still sign up with just an email and a password.  Simple and lovely!  Thank you so much to Daniella and Leslie for each passing this on to me—I don’t know how I missed it! or try googling it

(edit: now I know how I missed it, the invitation went into my junk mail!)
